Liberty Community Unit #2 School District Board of Education Vacancy

Due to the resignation of Laura Meyer (Liberty Township), effective June 12, 2024, the remaining board members have 60 days to fill this vacancy. The newly appointed school board member will serve until the next school board election, April, 2027.

Candidates must meet the following guidelines:

● Be a resident of Liberty Township

● Be a United States citizen
● Be at least 18 years of age
● Be a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment
● Be a registered voter

● Not be a child sex offender
● Not hold another incompatible public office
● Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District
● Not be a school trustee
● Not hold certain types of prohibited State or federal employment
