Principal's Message for 2024 - 2025

I extend a warm welcome to Liberty Elementary! Serving as the elementary principal is a great honor. I have been at Liberty School for 25+ years and am thrilled for the start of the 2024-25 school year.

When I reflect on my years as an elementary student, the one thing I remember most is how many of my teachers cared about me as a person. I have always felt passionate about this as an educator. I want every child walking through our doors to feel seen, loved, and cared for daily. Fortunately, we have a staff at Liberty who are true champions of our students.

Our Liberty CUSD #2 vision is to prepare students to “Soar to Excellence” for life. At Liberty, we will uphold this vision by creating opportunities for students to take risks in their learning while also holding students to high expectations socially, behaviorally, and academically. We will strive to deliver our curriculum rigorously, purposefully, and engagingly. We want to nurture your child’s love of learning.  Additionally, we will model and teach students how to be kind and treat others with dignity and respect. This is how we create a sense of belonging in our school and create a family.

While all of the things mentioned above are highly important for a school to be successful, none of them means anything without trusting partnerships with our parents and guardians. I pledge to always offer a listening ear to hear your perspective on our students’ education and work alongside you to make this year a positive experience for our students, staff, and community. I look forward to working with you as a team to support our students and make this year one they won’t forget!

Sincerely,
Jody Obert
Elementary Principal
